After a march of hundreds of workers from their headquarters in the rebels to the Zocalo in the capital where the huge press conference with the National Association of Electricity Users (ANUE) was held, the conference was held in front of the National Palace, moderated from outside by Secretary Humberto Montes de Oca.

There, the general leader of SMEs and the new labor union, Martin Esparza, reiterated a broad explanation of the failure of the current government to comply with the commitments it had made to resolve the conflict, and noted that it had only 288 days left to complete its mandate.

Therefore, he warned that the time to respect the given word had been shortened, and read a letter bearing a date close to the expropriation of Luz y Fuerza, in which López Obrador accused Calderón of destroying the cooperative in favor of privatizing the sector. .

Esparza said that there are two main demands in this mobilization that has been taking place for five years and that have not been met: the first, a clean slate in terms of what concerns the rates and their consequences that affect users, and the demands of ANUE 13 years ago.years.

The beneficiaries were Iberdrola and other foreign companies that, having become owners of the sector, unfairly raised prices, and many other companies that still enjoyed agreements and concessions.

The second is to restore jobs to the workers who were left on the streets by the Calderon government, especially the workers who resisted small and medium-sized companies, who numbered more than 16,000.

He pointed out that he was saying this in front of the headquarters of the National Supreme Court of Justice that today they are tearing their clothes ostensibly because of their workers, and are not solving the problems of others who also have their constitutional rights.

He denounced the existence of nine thousand contracting companies throughout the country that earn billions of pesos and displace the work of others, while rates have not decreased, and obligations with the affected sectors have not been fulfilled, which explains why these activities continue in the Zocalo.

He reiterated that the President said in that letter that he would restore Luz y Fuerza del Centro’s rights and their employment contracts, but that was not the case even though five years had passed and he only had 288 days left in government.

Esparza explained that to resolve the conflict, no discussion or vote is required by the Congress of the Republic, but only the political will of the President and the Ministry of the Interior, as the road map for these purposes has already been defined, and because of this demand was not met in the Zocalo.
