Sucre, November 11 (RHC) Bolivia will host the 23rd Ministerial Meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) on November 16, which will actually take place, the government announced on Thursday.
The Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy, Franklin Molina, added that the event will promote issues related to global trends in gas exploration and production, through the exchange of experiences, opinions, information and coordination.
Ministers and experts summoned to the meeting will discuss issues such as supplying and forecasting the balance between supply and demand for gas, said the detailed minister, citing the Bolivian Information Agency.
He explained that other issues on the agenda are the development of regional and global markets. Transport, pipelines and LNG carriers; and techniques of gas exploration, production and transportation in the world.
The authority also added that the relationship of gas with oil products and other energy sources and techniques and approaches to sustainable environmental management.
Molina, who will chair the 23rd Ministerial Meeting of the World Economic Cooperation Forum, explained that this will be held for almost the second time, due to biosafety regulations in place in different countries to prevent COVID-19 infection.
Bolivia hosted the fourth summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, which was held in the city of Santa Cruz in November 2017, attended by 77 countries.
GECF is an intergovernmental organization that provides a framework for the exchange of experiences and information on hydrocarbons among the countries that export this resource on the planet.
This alliance accounts for 71 percent of the world’s proven gas reserves, 44 percent of its marketed production, 53 percent of pipelines, and 57 percent of global LNG exports. (Source: latin press).
