Venezuelan rival Sergio Garrido wins Barinas state governor

The Democratic Unity Table candidate, Sergio Garrido, will be the next governor of Barinas, after 97.40% of the data examined from Sunday’s election.

at a press conference, The Regional Electoral Office of the State of Barinas indicated that Garrido received 172,497 votes, or 55.36% of the total number of votes, compared to Jorge Ariza, who received 128,583 votes, with 41.27%.

Earlier on Sunday, Jorge Arraza, who is also a candidate for governor of Barinas state in Venezuela, wrote on Twitter that “The information we receive from our SUP structures indicates that although we have increased the vote, we have not achieved the goal.”

He added, “I heartily thank our heroic struggle. We will continue to protect the people of Barnes from all places.”

The National Electoral Council and political organizations have highlighted the deployment of public power for security, and at the same time, The peaceful sense of the population who went to the polls to exercise their right to vote.
