– Ministers of Economy Ninfa Cantú and Minister of Energy Development José Ramón Silva meet with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Mexico

(Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas). – With the aim of strengthening cooperation in the trade, economic and educational fields, as well as promoting investment in Tamaulipas, Minister of Economy Ninfa Canto Dindar and Minister of Energy Development José Ramon Silva Arizabalo held a working meeting with His Excellency Mr. John Benjamin, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Mexico.

At the meeting held in the Bicentenario Tower in the state capital, the programs and actions of the administration of Governor Americo Villarreal were presented, as well as the opportunities available in economic infrastructure, energy, education, strategy, hydraulics and the environment.

Highlighting the strengths of the state’s regions, Economy Minister Ninfa Cantú highlighted that Tamaulipas and the United Kingdom have a long history of friendship, cooperation and trust in particular, as it is the eighth country to invest the most in Mexico and the second country to invest the most in Tamaulipas in The year 2022 in the north and south of the state.

“Under the leadership of Governor Américo Villarreal, our state is undergoing an unprecedented transformation and today is the ideal place for investment and business development in Mexico and Latin America. “That is why we are excited about the UK’s interest in learning more about the entity’s strengths and exploring new forms of cooperation and integration with the Government of Tamaulipas.”

For his part, the Minister of Energy Development explained the state’s capabilities in this sector and the development opportunities it represents for investment, as well as strategic projects such as the northern port of Matamoros and investments such as those made by private companies in the field of oil. A sector that will enhance the country’s energy leadership.

In turn, Ambassador Benjamin expressed the interest of companies from the United Kingdom in strategic sectors and commitment to strengthening the trade and investment relationship with Tamaulipas, as well as strengthening relations with British state companies and institutions in various fields such as education and the environment.
