Spain secured three more medals at the European Paralympic Table Tennis Championships

Madrid, September 9 (European Press) –

The pair formed by Spaniards Ander Cebas and Jorge Cardona, Miguel Angel Toledo and Iker Sastre, Alejandro Diaz and Alberto Siwani, guaranteed themselves a medal at the European Paralympic Table Tennis Championships, held in Sheffield (United Kingdom), by reaching the semi-finals of the doubles category.

In the MD4 class, Miguel Ángel Toledo and Iker Sastre will face the Slovak duo of Martin Lodrowski and Jan Riabus, while in the MD14 class, Alberto Siwan and Alejandro Diaz, after two successive victories, will face the Danes Brammer and Rosenmeyer. In the MD18 class, Ander Sibas and Jorge Cardona will face the Ukrainian duo of Katz and May.

These three medals will join the bronze medals won by Alvaro Valera in Category 6 and Eduardo Cuesta in Category 11 in the individual competition.

In addition, three Spanish pairs were one win away from medals after losing in the quarterfinals. In the MD8 category, Roberto Eder Rodriguez and Francisco Javier Lopez bid farewell to the Turks Abdullah Ozturk and Nasim Turan (1-3); In the MD14 category, Jordi Morales and Álvaro Valera lost to France’s Herault & Berthier (0-3); In the XD17 category, Juan Bautista Perez and Olaya Martinez fell to the Ukrainians Nikolenko and Shinkarova (1-3).
