Simon Cowell wants to donate a whopping £500,000 to the winner of his new competitive show Walk The Line.

Now that the X Factor is offline, the music mogul is channeling all his energy into the new TV show that will feature music acts, including soloists, duets, bands and choirs, perform for the nation and a panel of judges.

The first two players will face a difficult decision: walk away from a cash prize or continue for the chance to win more money…or go home with nothing.

If they top the rankings, they stay in the race and take on a new set of competitors, advancing to the next bid.

“This is a completely new format for Simon and he is very excited,” a source said.

I wanted the prize to be the biggest on UK TV at the moment and I was convinced it wouldn’t be less than £500,000. He also wants new faces. There will be no Cheryl or Louis Walsh.

“These names are all from X Factor and Simon wants an exciting new talent to sit on his side.”

The source added to The Mirror: “Testing is underway and Simon is striving for perfection, so he won’t announce when the show will be until he has the perfect line-up for judges.”

“We wanted to develop a show that would give contestants a cash prize that would change their lives if they won,” Simon previously said of the new show.

“At every show, there will be a champion who must make a vital decision: withdraw money now or stay in the competition to compete again the next night and have a chance to claim the grand prize.”
