Santander UK is remodeling part of its dome. The bank's British subsidiary has appointed Enrique Alvarez as CEO of its new retail banking division, effective October 1, a statement said. This new division is called “Retail and Business Banking” and includes housing, mortgage and day-to-day services.
This department will be responsible for developing and delivering products to retail and commercial banking customers through branches, customer service centers and digital channels. Marketing and financial support activities, as well as Cater Allen and Cahoot, are also included under its umbrella.
Alvarez, who, in his new responsibility, will report to Santander UK CEO Mike Regnier, has 20 years of experience in international business at companies such as Bosch or McKinsey. In 2015, he joined Santander, where he was responsible for strategy and the group leadership office. In 2019, he moved to the UK subsidiary as Head of Strategy and Corporate Development. Since 2021 he has been Customer Service Manager in the “Everyday Banking” area.
