SABES students receive international accreditation for their Science Project – Dependencies Bulletins

  • Three students and a counselor from San Gabriel High School will represent SABES and Mexico at an international meet.

Leon, Guanajuato, December 8, 2023. Through the Helping Crookes – “Fero-Electroplasma Impact” project, three students and a counselor from SABES San Gabriel High School in Pénjamo have received an entry pass to the 2024 International Research Meeting to be held in Colombia.

The winning project that will represent SABES at this international event consists of students Cristian Antonio Bocanegra Arredondo, Heidi Paula Sánchez Duran, Anida Medel Bravo and advisor Ricardo Hernández.

This competition was reached after winning the platinum medal in the Exact and Natural Sciences category at ExpoCiencias Nacional 2023, an event held from December 5 to 8 in the city of Sonora and attended by about 1,300 young people and more than 400 teams from all over the country.

It is important to note that this year the San Gabriel High School team also won a gold medal in the Experiment category in the 32nd National Competition of Physics Instruments and Experiments 2023 and in the 11th edition of the State Competition for Science and Technology Projects, Expo Ciencias Guanajuato 2023.

ExpoCiencias is organized by the National Network for Youth Activities in Science and Technology (LaREDMex) through the Desarrollos de Ideas Mexicanas AC (DIMEX AC) and is considered the largest science and technology event with the participation of children and youth organized in Mexico that brings together all numbers of students from pre-school level to the above.

In addition, it allows the participation of institutions and companies specializing in education, as well as publishers and teachers. It consists of various activities such as project exhibitions, cultural, scientific and recreational visits, workshops, animation and conferences.

At SABES we congratulate and wish the greatest success to the students and the counselor of San Gabriel High School who will represent our country in this international event. We are sure that all these achievements they have achieved will serve as an incentive for more young people from Guanajuato to participate in scientific projects and strive to represent our institution in national and international events.
