In his laboratory at Ghent State University, Mark van Montagu demonstrated it to his doctoral student Alfredo Herrera Estrella (Mexico City, 1961) Photographs of a mushroom eating another mushroom, wrapping itself around it, and breaking through the surface to enter and devour it.
