Cuba sends condolences to Pakistan over rain-related deaths

The President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, today sent his deepest condolences to the people and government of Pakistan for the unfortunate loss of life and material damage caused by the monsoon rains.
On his Twitter account, he expressed Cuba’s solidarity in the face of the rains in the Asian country due to the effects of climate change.
Since June 14, more than 1,000 people have died in Pakistan due to flooding, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), and 1,527 people have been injured.
According to Prensa Latina news agency reports, the southern province of Sindh is the hardest-hit, with physical damage amounting to about three billion euros so far.
Almost 950,000 homes were partially or completely destroyed, about 3,500 km of roads were damaged and about 150 bridges collapsed.
The source adds that the floods affected 110 municipalities in the country, 72 of which were declared dangerous areas.
About 5.7 million people were affected by the rains, including 498,000 people who were moved to relief camps.
