In the framework of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Juarez, formerly known as Comercial Practica, which was born on December 31, 1922, a series of activities has been prepared with the boys. One is the promotion of identity in it, for which people who graduated from school in its various stages and who can share the tales of their history when they were students were invited, so that young people feel connected to people who have had experiences like yours and whose reality is now completely different.

At the beginning of this conversation on behalf of Principal María del Pilar Deras Valdez, ECYTE Academic Secretary Celina Soria Pérez greeted 120 sophomore students, from both periods, who came to hear the alumni’s anecdotes.

In the same way, he greeted the participants in the conversation, chaired by Dean of the School Mario Carrera Cepeda, as well as the alumni who came to share their experiences, Elvira Cárdenas Avitia, from the period 1962-1964; Juan Rochelle Martinez, student from 1968 to 1971; Laura Elena Martinez-Balona, who graduated in 1994; Karla Xóchitl Segura Rentería, from 2008-2010, and finally Juan Omar Sánchez Morales, student from 2011-2013.

Carrera Cepeda started this conversation by telling a little about the history of the institution, from its beginnings in the central building, how the curriculum evolved, and the places it was in until it reached its current location. For their part, graduates highlighted in their history through commercial practice that the preparation they received from teachers is what opened doors for them in prestigious institutions, as well as in the future to continue their professional preparation.
