The municipal government headed by Mayor Leonor Noyola Cervantes continued its initiatives during 2023 with the aim of contributing to ensuring the overall well-being of the population.

Being a proposal to help seniors facing adverse economic conditions, Senior Support has benefited from an active register of over 1,500 people over the age of 60, with quarterly economic support of two thousand pesos in cash. This program has been in effect for more than 12 years and was initiated by the current governor of the state, Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, with the aim of strengthening the economy and well-being of this sector of the population.

Also, by providing a direct boost to the family economy and combating school dropouts, through the “School Bags and Shoes” program, more than 35,000 basic education students in the municipality benefited from the delivery of shoes and backpacks filled with basic school supplies, the resources necessary to ensure their sustainability and support their academic development. .

Another measure that was added was the delivery of more than 40,000 blankets during the “Green Christmas” initiative that was implemented in about 25 neighborhoods, where the municipal government strengthened compassion and solidarity with the aim of alleviating the plight of the winter season, providing relief and comfort to families and reaffirming commitment to sectors.
