The distribution of the donation of 240 computers, school supplies, backpacks, equipment and sports equipment, as a result of the solidarity of trade unionists from the United Kingdom, has now begun to be distributed in several Cuban provinces with the support of the National Union of Education and Science. and Sports Workers (SNTECD).

According to details from Niorca María González Orbera, Secretary General of SNTECD, the fundraising was led by the National Education Union, NEU for its English acronym, and the Cuba Solidarity Campaign (CSC), as well as other unions in that European nation.

“The solidarity of the new union has historical and very strong foundations for more than 30 years,” the leader stressed, explaining also that “the donation responds to a campaign developed in the United Kingdom in cooperation with our union and called Viva la Educación.”

The resources sent to support the teaching process have already been distributed in several primary schools in the provinces of Havana, Villa Clara and Granma as well as Santiago de Cuba, and will soon arrive in Mayabique, Artemisa and Matanzas.

The special cooperation between Near East University and Cuba has been demonstrated on many other occasions by providing means to support teaching, in the presence of specialists.
