The Secretary of State Government Education (SEGE) and the Potosino Institute for Scientific and Technological Research (Ipicyt) implemented the pilot program “Nano at School” in 37 pre-school and primary schools, supporting 342 teachers and more than 960 students, promoting their integrated development through the overall approach to nanotechnology and science. The Minister of Education, Juan Carlos Torres Cedillo, said that the goal is to promote measures that allow the promotion of science and technology to take place at all educational levels, so the results of this program were positive, as 15 primary and secondary schools and 22 pre-schools participated.

He commented that the Ministry of Higher Education will provide facilities throughout the academic year until the “Nano in School” pilot program reaches the four regions of the country, with medium and long-term goals to explore innovative technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality, to take science education to a new level of immersion and engagement.

For their part, Luz Yazmin Villagran Villegas and José Luis Rodríguez Lopez, coordinators of the aforementioned program, explained that the goal is to promote comprehensive education, while aligning with the State Development Plan 2021-2027, by preparing young people with advanced education. To meet the challenges of the future, to foster scientific curiosity from an early age, to strengthen the scientific fabric and to promote innovative solutions to current challenges.
