The President of Laos arrives in Cuba to attend the G77-China summit

According to a report on national television, the President received at José Martí International Airport the Minister of Industries of the Caribbean country, Eloy Alvarez.

Brazilian leaders, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, will participate in the G77 summit; From Argentina, Alberto Fernandez; From Colombia, Gustavo Petro; From Iraq, Abdul Latif Rashid; From Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, from Angola, Joao Lourenco, and from Honduras, Xiomara Castro.

Bolivia’s Head of State, Luis Arce, also confirmed their participation; Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe; Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi; Equatorial Guinea, Obiang Nguema, and Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves.

In addition, the event will be attended by senior officials such as UN Secretary-General António Guterres; The Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, Doreen Bogdan Martin, and the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Qu Dongyu.

The Group of 77 and China is the largest intergovernmental organization for developing countries in the United Nations and aims to enhance cooperation among its members.

The summit, which will be held soon in this capital, seeks to strengthen the unity of member states and take collective and practical measures to effectively confront contemporary challenges.

These days, the streets of Havana are decorated to welcome members of the bloc, which represents 80 percent of the world’s population.

Laos is located in Southeast Asia, has no maritime borders, and has a population of more than seven million people.
