The photo contest held at Dar Al Uloom already has winners

Victoria Martinez Leyva and Juan José Moya Garcia are the winning photographers in the first nature photography competition aimed at professionals and amateurs organized by Casa de las Ciencias in association with the Riojafoto Association.

Victoria Martinez took the winning photo in the category focusing on the House of Science from the Iron Bridge railing on a cloudy day, while the award winning photo in the Nature category titled “In Her World” was taken at dawn on the mountain by Juan José Moya García titled “Red Arrow Dragonfly” “.

This competition aimed at professionals and amateurs was organized by the City Council of Logroño and the Riojavoto Association as a continuation of the exhibition “European Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2022” on display at Casa de las Ciencias.

This competition was created with the aim of impacting the value of nature and introducing the environment of Dar Al Uloom, as well as its facilities and the activities and exhibitions it hosts.

The jury was made up of representatives of the House of Science in Logroño and members of the Riojavuto Association. Culture Consultant Carmen Urcia thanked the professionals and amateurs who participated in this competition for their participation and highlighted the high quality of their work. «The popular nature of this competition, which does not contain cash prizes, did not prevent the submission of images of high quality, artistic and artistic».

In all, 76 photographers shared a total of 174 photos, between the two categories. A selection of the best photos on display from today is on display at the House of Science.

Exhibition in the House of Science

“European Wildlife Photographer of the Year” is the largest and most popular nature photography competition, in which amateur and professional photographers from all over Europe participate. Last year it received 19,179 photos taken by 1,003 photographers from 36 European countries.

This international competition, whose images can now be viewed in Casa de las Ciencias until September 4, allows us to get a very real X-ray of the photographic moment of modern nature. In addition, thanks to the attention she pays to newcomers, she has allowed for more than ten years to discover new talents. Some of the best nature photographers were featured in this competition.
