The Cantabrian documentary “On the Horizon” will participate in the Atlantidoque Film Festival in Uruguay

The Cantabrian documentary “On the Horizon”, about the painter Roberto Urallo, participates in the official section of the 17th Uruguay International Documentary Film Festival “Atlantidoc 2023”, which will take place from 16 to 29 October. The festival, one of Latin America’s most prestigious in the field of documentary film, received more than 600 documentaries from 43 countries this year and selected 70 films, including the Cantabrian event. Atlantidoc has 14 theaters across the country and two public television channels in Uruguay. “On the Horizon” is one of eight documentaries programmed at the Maca Museum (Achugari Museum of Contemporary Art). This month was particularly positive for the documentary, directed by Iñaki Pinedo and Marcos Aldaco, as the film was part of the official selection at three other festivals: Colortab International Film Festival 2023 (Brisbane, Australia), Milton Keynes International Film Festival (UK) and Creative Creeds International Film Festival 2023 (India). On the Horizon, which premiered in October 2022 at the Santander Festival Palace, is a documentary about the Cantabrian painter Roberto Orallo, a reflection on the artist’s creative process and the influence of the environment on him. Promoted by the Gelsomina Group and filmed in Cantabria and Mexico, this work received the participation of public and private entities in the region and an important crowdfunding campaign in which more than two hundred people participated. The documentary will be screened on December 14 at 8:30 pm at Filmoteca de Cantabria in the presence of its directors Iñaki Pinedo and Marcos Aldaco; Artist Roberto Orallo. Gorka Hermosa, who is responsible for the film’s soundtrack, will perform some of the tracks live. At the end of the show, they will have a discussion with the audience. This event concludes the film screening symposium campaign, which will coincide with the artist’s traveling exhibition at the Central Library of Cantabria in December, within the “Oral Year”.
