Russia killed nearly 400 mercenaries in Ukraine

MOSCOW, July 12 – The Russian Defense Ministry today confirmed the killing of about 400 foreign mercenaries in Ukraine during the past three weeks and another 240 fled the country.

As a result of the offensive of the Russian army and the Donetsk and Lugansk militias, the number of mercenaries decreased from 3221 to 2741, although 151 new mercenaries arrived; 391 foreigners were eliminated and another 240 rushed to leave the territory of Ukraine.

In a text posted on its website, it denied the statements of the Kyiv authorities, which confirmed that 20 thousand foreigners had joined its armed forces, but Russia confirmed that the number is about 10 times less, and that their number is decreasing without stopping.

The ministry determined that Poland once again ranks first in terms of troop losses, with 166 dead, followed by Georgia (50) and the United Kingdom (23). In addition, 21 Romanian mercenaries and 15 Canadians were eliminated.

According to data previously published by the Russian military entity, more than 7,100 soldiers from more than 60 countries have arrived in Ukraine since the start of the special military operation on February 24.

In particular, the presence of mercenaries was recorded mainly from European countries, such as Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Italy.
