HAVANA, Aug 7 (RHC) First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic Miguel Diaz-Canel on Sunday congratulated the elected President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, who took office in the South American country.
On the social network Twitter, the Cuban man sent the message in which he, in addition, ratified the commitment of the largest island of the Antilles to peace in Colombia.
Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez leads the Cuban delegation that attended the inauguration ceremony in Bogota.
Rodriguez underlined Cuba’s readiness to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation with the new government, as well as our country’s unwavering commitment to peace in Colombia.
The delegation also consists of Vice-Chancellor Josefina Vidal Ferrero. Eugenio Martinez Enriquez, Director General for Latin America and the Caribbean, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Javier Camanyo Cairo, Cuban Ambassador to Bogota.
