Santo Domingo– The Ibero-American Summit, which will be attended by about 15 leaders this week in Santo Domingo, will focus on food security and the search for solutions to the high interest rates that the region pays for external financing.
Although not on the official agenda of the 28th Ibero-American Summit, the meeting represents a new opportunity for the country to call on the region to come to Haiti’s aid, according to the meeting coordinator.
In addition to the crisis in Haiti, among the central issues of the summit after the pandemic, food security stands out, as well as the difficulties that the countries of the region face in obtaining international credit.
Alvarez is confident that the agreements that emerge from this meeting on food safety, the environment, digital rights, and reforms to the financial system will help build a fairer life for every city.
