Eduardo Bolsonaro was re-elected as deputy, but 1 million votes remained

Federal Representative Eduardo Bolsonaro, 38, the president’s youngest son in politics, was re-elected to the Chamber of Deputies but lost more than 1 million votes in São Paulo compared to the 2018 election. Four years ago, he was an MP with the most support in all of Brazil, with 1.8 million voted, this Sunday was the third most voted in the state, with 741,701 votes.

The most voted candidate in São Paulo was Guilherme Paulos, of the United Socialist Party, the great hope of the left outside the orbit of PT Lula da Silva. With just over a million votes, Bols triumphed in his campaign challenge, when he promised that he would finish the race ahead of Eduardo – better known as Bolsonaro 03 -.

Eduardo is considered a potential heir to the dynastic dynasty forged by President Jair Bolsonaro, the most obvious link to Trumpism in the United States. On the eve of the elections, EL PAÍS accompanied one of its events in São Paulo. You can read this record here.
