The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) found the pollution level affecting the city at 440 early Saturday morning, when the ideal health index would be around 50.
In an emergency meeting the previous day, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena termed the situation alarming and reiterated the need to implement a long-term permanent action plan to mitigate the air pollution crisis.
