With the aim of strengthening security locks in conversations between users, WhatsApp today in Mexico launched the “Send private messages” campaign.
The instant messaging app strives to highlight the benefits of end-to-end encryptionIn addition to protecting the privacy of messages of people using the platform.
“WhatsApp believes that the desire to communicate privately is universal and should be celebrated and protected,” the Facebook-owned company said in a statement.
At the beginning of 2021, thousands of mobile application users decided to uninstall the service and move to other communication platforms; Post updates to the terms and conditions in their privacy policies.
“We want to make it clear that the update does not in any way affect the privacy of messages exchanged with your friends and family,” the company stated as a measure to stem the migration of Internet users during that period.
Given these modifications, WhatsApp has confirmed that it plans to expand its temporary messaging options at the end of this summer.
“These new privacy features are an important part of WhatsApp’s goal to make in-app chats as close to personal conversations as possible.”
The private messaging company started on June 14 in the UK and Germany, now continues in Mexico, France and Indonesia, and will later end in India and Brazil.
