What it is and how to benefit from it – Teach me about science

Nowadays we have various options in messaging apps, with WhatsApp definitely being the most popular one on the list. To maintain its title, WhatsApp cares about users and constantly implements new functions, and in terms of calls it is not far behind. We’ve seen news about privacy, convenience, and scheduling a call without having to resort to external apps and call links, and now we have some unexpected changes.

A while ago WhatsApp added the ability to create a call link and then simply share it with the people we wanted to join, but now this has been replaced with a new button. In addition, there are changes to the interface within chats, as calls are now displayed on the screen with a large box, and missed or unanswered calls can be redialed with one click.

In the following screenshot you can see the mentioned changes. In the first two images you can see how missed calls, missed calls and answered calls are displayed. Previously, missed calls were only shown in the chat, in a small bar, but now they appear large and can be easily seen. In the third image, you can see the option to create call links now appears, along with the option to start calls or video calls with multiple people.

According to the WABetaInfo website, along with the recent change, also provides the ability for users to start large group calls instantly by selecting up to 32 people. Previously, you could make group calls with up to 32 people, who could be added manually during the call, where initially the maximum was just 15 people. This is an important change because it removes this barrier and you can start the call directly with more than 15 people if necessary.

These changes are currently only available to WhatsApp for Android beta users, and are expected to be rolled out to everyone later. If you don’t want to wait any longer, you can switch to the beta version and receive updates before they are released to the general public.

On Android, the procedure is simple, all you have to do is search for “WhatsApp Beta” in Google Chrome. If you can’t do it this way, let’s see how to do it step by step:

  1. Open the page WhatsApp beta program in the browser. (connection: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.whatsapp/).
  2. Find the button that says “Become a tester” and click on it.
  3. Once you’ve joined, go to Google Play, search for WhatsApp and you’ll see that you can now install the beta.
  4. Download or update the application on your mobile phone and that’s it.

Once the beta version of WhatsApp is installed, you can open the app again and check if the new features are already available to you. If it doesn’t appear after all, you’ll simply have to wait for the next few days.
