With chairman Lord Rothschild set to address shareholders next Tuesday, analysts reckon Volex's power and data connectivity business still has room to run.
Volex (LSE: VLX) shares were trading at 536p ahead of next Tuesday's annual general meeting, with one City commentator pointing to upside beyond 600p — a gain of more than 12% from current levels — on the back of what he called the group's "positive prospects".
The near-£1bn capitalised manufacturer of power and data connectivity systems has told investors it delivered record revenues and double-digit margins, hitting the targets of its five-year plan a full year ahead of schedule, a milestone that underpins the bullish price target.

Volex, chaired by Lord Nathaniel Rothschild, positions itself as a critical manufacturing partner to category-leading customers, supplying complex power and data connectivity components used across a range of industrial and technology applications. The early completion of its five-year growth plan has been cited as evidence that the business is executing ahead of its own expectations.
Rothschild has also been building a series of strategic investment positions intended to extend Volex's reach further, though the detail of these moves was not fully spelled out in the commentary circulating ahead of the AGM.
Attention now turns to Tuesday's meeting, where shareholders will be looking for confirmation that trading momentum has been sustained and for any fresh colour on the strategic investments Rothschild is understood to be pursuing. Until then, the 600p target remains a broker's view rather than a confirmed re-rating, and investors will want to see the numbers behind the record-revenue claims before the shares move decisively higher.
