At the meeting held at the headquarters of the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Relations, the two officials analyzed the preparations for the 22nd Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA- TCP).

The high-level meeting is scheduled to take place in Havana, Cuba, on December 14.

During the meeting, the progress of the agreements emanating from the Economic Council of the regional bloc and the sectoral meetings held during 2022 were reviewed.

Faria reiterated the support of the Bolivarian government to President Nicolás Maduro to continue consolidating and strengthening this common space, of which Venezuela is its founder, as well as ensuring its preservation as a political moat welcoming the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

ALBA-TCP appeared on December 14, 2004 in the Cuban capital at the suggestion of leaders Fidel Castro (1926-2016) and Hugo Chavez (1954-2013).

As a mechanism of political integration, its primary goal is to unify the capabilities and forces of the countries that integrate it, to produce structural transformations in the system of relations, on the basis of solidarity, justice and cooperation.

The alliance consists of Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Saint Lucia.

Faria indicated on his Twitter account that during the meeting they reviewed the achievements of this year, reviewed the work agenda for 2023, and affirmed their commitment to continue strengthening this space for the benefit of the peoples of the region.
