Gold futures for April delivery fell 1.14%, or 22.20, to $1.00 an ounce. Among other commodities, crude oil futures for April delivery rose 5.21%, or $5.39, to settle at $108.80 a barrel, while Brent crude futures for May delivery rose 5.63%, or $5.91 a barrel.
The GBP/USD pair rose 0.38% to settle at 1.34, while the EUR/GBP was unchanged, up 0.40% at 0.83.
The dollar index rose 0.04% to 97.44.
