Investing.com – The UK Stock Exchange closed higher on Friday; Sector gains, indexes lead higher.
At the close in London, it was up 0.72%.
Among the best performing stocks during the session of the day was St. James’s Place PLC (LON :), which rose 3.69%, or 43.50 points, to settle at 1,222.50 at the close. It is followed by DCC plc (LON :), which advanced 2.98%, 170.0 points, to close at 5,878.0, and Precaution PLC (LON 🙂 which rose 2.91%, 37.50 points, to close at 1,327.50 points.
To the tail of the pointer is over ITV PLC (LON 🙂 which fell 3.11%, or 3.50 points, to close at 109.00. For its part, SSE PLC (LON 🙂 fell 2.35%, 34.00 points, and closed at 1,415.00, while Carnival PLC (LON 🙂 lost 2.46%, 32.0 points to close at 1,268.5.
The number of Reds outperformed the green on the London Stock Exchange by 1,186 versus 1,095, and 96 was flat.

Gold futures for April delivery rose 0.05%, or 0.90, to $ 1,827.70 an ounce. Regarding other commodities, crude oil futures for March delivery rose 0.88%, or $ 0.51, to settle at $ 58.75 a barrel, while Brent crude oil futures for April delivery rose 1.01%, $ 0.62, to reach $ 61.76 a barrel.
The GBP / USD was up 0.24% at 1.3847, while the EUR / GBP was down 0.25% to 0.8755.
The dollar index rose 0.02% to 90.427.
