They warned of a similar anti-Palestinian strategy by Israeli politicians

CAIRO, November 24 (Prinsa Latina) Israel’s acting prime minister, Yair Lapid, and his successor, Benjamin Netanyahu, are two sides of the same coin in their treatment of the Palestinians despite belonging to different parties, an Egyptian political scientist estimates today.

Deputy Director General of the Egyptian Center for Thought and Strategic Studies, Mohamed Ibrahim Al-Duwairi, confirmed that there are no fundamental differences in the policies of the two.

The expert told the official Middle East News Agency that Lapid’s actions largely coincide with those of Netanyahu, who has ruled Israel for 15 years.

As an example, he cited the ongoing colonization of the occupied territories, the arrests and killings of Palestinians, and the systematic attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque, located in East Jerusalem.

He stressed that Lapid’s statements about the principle of a two-state solution were nothing but empty words that did not include any mechanism for implementation, which is the same logic that Netanyahu adopted during his tenure.

He considered that although there were some differences, they would only be in tactical rather than strategic issues.

Doueiri stressed that the leader of the right-wing Likud party, after he takes power again, will keep his strong hand against the Palestinians as he did in the past.

He said that he would continue the politics of power in the Palestinian territories, without making any concessions, although he would have to soften the more radical measures of his allies from the formation of religious Zionism.

And won the ultra-nationalist coalition led by Netanyahu in the recent Israeli elections by winning 64 seats out of 120 parliamentary seats.
