The former Argentine president condemned the kidnapping of Jorge Glass

Through his profile on the social network

I deny this fact and express my solidarity with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the Mexican people. He stressed that the protection of political asylum seekers is an international right that must be respected.

For his part, former Argentine Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero indicated that Ecuador's invasion of the Mexican embassy was unfortunate.

No current political necessity can override international law and international sovereignty. He pointed out that without respect for these principles, there will be no possibility of rebuilding a great and diverse nation.

Extremism, violent rhetoric and actions like these put citizens and political integration in the region under tension. He added that, as Argentina did during its interim presidency of the Group of Latin American and Caribbean States, unity in diversity must be achieved through dialogue, without exceptions.

In turn, Senator from the Union Party, Por la Patria, and former head of the Interior, Eduardo de Pedro, pointed out that Latin America is a zone of peace and pointed out that what happened was unprecedented and unacceptable.

I would like to express my complete rejection of this blatant violation of international law. He added that sovereignty, solidarity and peace are the highest values on which integration in Latin America is based, and we must preserve them with honesty and commitment.
