The Cuban president remembers Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh

As part of the anniversary celebration in Cuba, the Cuban Institute for Friendship with Peoples (ICAP) and the Vietnamese Embassy in Havana laid a wreath the day before in the park bearing the name of the first Vietnamese president.

The tribute was attended by Fernando González Llort, Hero of the Republic of Cuba and President of ICAP; Nguyen Van Tien, Vice President of the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam, who is on an official visit to the island, and Hanoi’s Ambassador to Havana, Le Quang Long.

The ceremony was also attended by representatives of Cuban administrations, social organizations, diplomats, Vietnamese citizens who live and work in this Caribbean country and residents of this capital.

At the ceremony, students from many local primary and secondary schools performed songs, poems and dances praising the independence hero, as well as the revolutionary cause and special solidarity between the two peoples, Vietnam News Agency reported.
