Schroders Capital acquires a portfolio of UK solar parks worth $820 million

Madrid, February 7 (European Press) –

Toucan Energy has acquired a portfolio of 53 solar parks in the UK for €820 million, the company said.

The assets, which will be acquired mainly through private markets funds managed by Schroders Greencoat, have a total capacity of 513.5MW in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and the equivalent power to serve around 184,000 homes.

In this way, the entity claimed to be the “largest manager” of solar parks operating in the UK with 1.35 GW of solar assets already managed.

The aim of the transaction is “to deliver sustainable returns to our investors through these assets, as they continue to make a significant contribution to the UK’s ‘net zero’ energy strategy,” said Lee Moskowitz, partner at Schroders Greencoat.

Likewise, it celebrated the acquisition “taking into account the size, complexity and number of parties involved in the process” and expressed gratitude to the directors of Interpath Advisory for “managing a comprehensive ‘due diligence’ process in which, together and through our own assessments, we demonstrated the high quality of the underlying assets of the portfolio.”
