Russia and Latin America strengthen cooperation with the BRICS

MOSCOW, December 8 (Prensa Latina) – Russian President Vladimir Putin will promote the strengthening of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in 2024 as an alternative to Western pressure, the Kremlin press office said.

“We will do everything in our power to improve the association’s role in resolving current problems on the global agenda and make efforts to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership within the BRICS framework,” the president said.

According to the Russian leader, unifying the organization is essential and necessary in the face of the increasing Western hegemony controlling the global financial and banking system.

Among the most important meetings this year is the recent BRICS+ International Forum in its fifth edition, from November 9 to 10 in St. Petersburg.

Participants discussed ideas for cooperation in education, business and science, and more than 200 agreements were signed, including with partners from Latin America.

In addition, global issues of modern society were discussed: digital technologies, the advantages of the BRICS+ business union.

“This is the first time I attend the BRICS+ International Forum. “You have surprised me with this scale, as you have made many interesting and useful contacts for my work,” Fernando Muñoz, general director of the recording company at the Russian University of Ecuador, told Prensa Latina.

Experts from Brazil highlighted the training in Russian universities for Latin American students, as well as the academic rigor and level of preparation in the field of mathematics, physics and space research.

Likewise, Russia offers different forms of Russian funding, grants and scholarships, so that every foreign applicant can choose the best option for themselves.
