Directed by Jim Jarmusch, the World’s Best Film cycle presents Only Lovers Survive. It will be on Saturday, April 12th, at the Bolivian Cinema, at 7:00 p.m.
Jarmusch starts from human complexity, making the extraordinary out of the ordinary, delving into the sensations and feelings most associated with people, and leaving aside the carnal desires that were part of vampire culture.
It may seem that it is just another story of vampires who want to survive with modernity, rejecting change and social evolution. The truth is, the movie doesn’t struggle with 21st-century properties, but it does make its viewers aware that it’s a double-edged sword.
Jarmusch highlights the importance of giving these beings a human voice, because he does not believe in them as a mythical creature, but rather as beings capable of understanding the world through the eyes of the past and present, and the ability to make decisions and share positions.
The danger now is that humanity itself acts automatically, without guilt, without introspection or reconsideration; It features the trends that govern a society designed to satisfy their egos through a capitalist world.

Eve (Tilda Swinton) and Adam (Tom Hiddleston), a pair of eternal vampire lovers, fragile and sensitive, have some support and stimulation in their long lives.
Both are lovers of music and science and have evolved to a level where they no longer kill for their living, but still retain their innate brutality. The precarious balance in their lives is threatened by the unexpected arrival of Ava (Mia Wasikowska), Eve’s uncontrollable younger sister.
Unlike Adam and Eve, Ava has yet to learn to master her wild instincts and recklessness.

Participated in many international exhibitions, such as ESCALA-Essex Latin American Art Collection (UK), PENELOPE project (Deutsches Museum, Munich, Germany), Biennial X SIART (National Museum of Art, Bolivia), Algomic Festival (UK), and Festival Ars Electronica (Austria) and Mercosol Biennale (Brazil) and recently had a 4-month exhibition at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago. His work is in collections such as PINTA – Contemporary Latin American Art, London, New York, La Paz (Washington) and various private collections around the world.
ARUMA holds a degree in Fine Arts (Bolivia) and a Master’s degree in Visual Arts (Brazil). Now he is studying his PhD in Chile.
