Xi stressed that the key to resisting international changes lies in consistently adhering to the tradition of unity, the approach of equality and mutual benefit, the pursuit of justice and equality, and the spirit of inclusiveness and learning.

“We must maintain our principled commitment, continue to hold high the banner of the ‘Shanghai Spirit’, support each other, and ensure the development direction of the SCO,” he added.

The meeting concluded with the signing of the “Astana Declaration of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization”, approval of initiatives to promote global justice and development, and a series of decisions on cooperation in the fields of energy, investment and information security.

It was also officially announced that China will hold the rotating presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization for the period 2024-2025.

Also in the news this week was the 4th Trans-Himalayan International Cooperation Forum, which focused on the harmonious development of nature and people, with the participation of 160 delegates from more than 20 countries.
