NASA invites students to design exploration robots

Madrid. NASA is looking for students interested in designing, developing, building, and testing robots for exploration of the Moon and Mars.

Those interested in participating in the 30th edition of the 2024 Human Exploration Robot Challenge competition should send their proposals to NASA before September 21. To learn more, Challenge experts will be hosting two webinars on August 24. Virtual sessions will describe proposal processes and require pre-registration.

“Activities will focus on an immersive story based on NASA’s proposed use cases for manned and unmanned robots during the following missions to sagebrushThis includes exploring permanently shaded areas, locating sites to recharge batteries, sharing energy and data with other surface assets, and storing collected samples,” explained Vimtra Alexander, Challenge Activities Lead for the US Agency’s STEM Sharing Office.
