Highlighting the growing role of IT in Vietnam

He stressed that many digital technology companies recorded growth rates ranging between 20 and 40 percent last year, while the sector’s business volume was estimated at about $138 billion.

Hoang Phuong delivered the opening speech today in the southern city of Ho Chi Minh City for the International Technology Expo (iTech Expo 2024) featuring 350 pavilions from domestic and foreign technology entities.

The senior government official praised the initiative to organize iTech Expo 2024 as a contribution to companies in seeking new markets, keeping up with global technology trends and making progress in digital transformation, to promote “Made in Vietnam” digital technology products and services.

According to Hoang Phuong, the Ministry of Information and Communications will create the best possible conditions for digital technology companies to invest in Vietnam and will also support local entities to expand their markets and promote their products abroad.

This will help to affirm the position of the Indo-Chinese state on the global technological map, the deputy minister said.

“New Technology for a New Era” is the main theme of iTech Expo 2024, showcasing the latest trends and innovations in digital transformation from companies such as Intel, ASUS, Zoho, QTSC, VNPT, Viettel, Mobifone, CMC Telecom, Galaxy Holdings and Dai Nam.

In addition to Vietnam, participating organizations, associations and suppliers come from more than a dozen countries and regions, including China, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan (China), South Korea, Japan, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, United States, Australia and Russia.

During the three days of the event, nine seminars will be held in which new technologies, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, digital management and information security, among other topics, will be analyzed.
