According to preliminary figures, Hanoi received more than 14 million visitors from January to June, including 3.14 million foreigners, thus achieving year-on-year increases of 13.7 percent and 52.6 percent respectively.
The city’s tourism authorities have set a target for the current calendar of 26.5 million passengers, including five million from other countries and regions.
In just the recently concluded month of June, according to the Municipal Tourism Administration, 2.49 million tourists arrived here, up 12.5 percent from the same month in 2023, including 496,000 foreigners, a figure 55.9 percentage points higher than last year.
According to the director of the department, Dang Hong Giang, work is underway to promote Hanoi’s tourism brand based on its diverse, unique, quality and competitive values, products and services, with the aim of attracting more national visitors.
He stressed that the capital’s authorities worked to maintain a safe, friendly and civilized tourist environment.
There are currently 3,756 accommodation establishments in Hanoi with 70,218 rooms, including 602 one- to five-star hotels with a total of 25,432 rooms.
