Five years after its creation, the ECOS Transversal Primary Health Care Strategy for Well-Being of the Institute for Security and Social Services of State Workers (Issste) has been standardized as a unique personalized blueprint for promoting self-care and prevention among the entire population. population, by forming 552 community teams to benefit more than 23 million people across the country.

On World Health Day, which falls on April 7, the medical directorate promoting this program explained that it was designed to implement the primary health care model, as part of the institute’s services to ensure ease of access, availability and quality of care for the population, whether they are eligible or not; Focuses on the individual, family and society.

From 2019 until now, more than seven thousand and 500 ECOS sessions have been held throughout the national territory and more than 87 thousand professionals from various fields and institutions in the field of primary health care have been trained, through the ten editions of the “ECOS Public Health” national meetings.

The city's Medical Directorate explained that this plan works on three preventive levels: primary, related to promoting health, education, and specific protection; Timely detection, diagnosis and damage reduction; Third, focus on physical, mental, social and environmental rehabilitation.
