Dutch companies are paying increasing attention to Vietnam

This was stated by Mark Rutte when he received in Amsterdam the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, who is on a tour in Europe within the framework of which he will attend tomorrow the summit celebrating the 45th anniversary of relations between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. (ASEAN) and the European Union (EU).

Rutte stressed the importance of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (Evfta for short in English) not only for strengthening bilateral economic relations, but also for stimulating the flow of investment into the Indo-Chinese country.

He also appreciated Vietnam’s efforts to develop sustainable fisheries and supported the early removal of the European Commission’s “yellow card” warning against Vietnamese aquatic product exports.

For his part, Minh Chinh affirmed the determination to strengthen the comprehensive partnership between the two countries and encouraged Dutch companies to invest in the sectors of seaports, shipbuilding technology, logistical connectivity and strategic infrastructure.

In the same way, VNA news agency reported, I asked the Netherlands to support Vietnam in building ecological, modern and smart agriculture.

During the same day yesterday, Queen Máxima received the Prime Minister, and he expressed to her the hope that the royal family would continue to support efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries, as well as financial aid and technology transfer to Vietnam.

Queen Máxima highlighted the achievements of the state of Indochina in social and economic development, particularly in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and praised the implementation of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy.

She also affirmed that as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Financing for Development, she will continue to support Vietnam in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.

Minh Dinh also spoke the day before with the Presidents of the Dutch Senate, Jan-Anthony Bruin, and the House of Representatives, Vera Bergkamp, ​​who warmly welcomed his official visit, which they considered a milestone in bilateral relations.
