Convergencia, a social science journal, is in its 30th year, founded by teachers from FCPyS at UAEM

Due to the academic interest of the faculty of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the Autonomous State University of Mexico (UAEMex), the Convergencia Revista de Ciencias Sociales was established, which in its thirtieth anniversary has established itself as an official spokesperson on the subject. In Iberoamerican.

Over the course of thirty years, this scientific space has undergone various changes, the most important of which was the establishment of academic standards for published research, explained the editorial director of Convergencia Revista de Ciencias Sociales, Guillermina Díaz Pérez. It was later incorporated into CONACyT's quality journals and indexed in Scopus, Clarivate Analytics, and Latindex, as one of the most cited journals in these indexes.

Moreover, due to the increase in online consultation, it has moved from being a print journal to a fully digital journal, and has been able to decide which articles will be archived online, something that very few journals in South and Central America have done.

“There is no doubt that thanks to these processes the journal has been strengthened; he added: “Currently, Convergence faces the challenge of knowing and complying with modern worldviews on the digital publishing of scholarly work with open and fair access, but also maintaining rigor, editorial excellence and diversity of published works.” “.

In this sense, Díaz Pérez stated that thanks to the guidance of the Redalyc scientific information system of the Autonomous University of Mexico, it has become a cutting-edge open access journal; In addition, he honored the editorial team of Veronica Hernández Sánchez, María de los Ángeles Ayala Rogel, Amelia Suárez Arriaga, Lizeth Domínguez Gómez, and Caridad Rodríguez Hernández, because thanks to their work and commitment a research and analysis community was created. Which transcended borders, and which was enriched by the diversity of opinions and works of researchers around the world.
