Over the course of thirty years, this scientific space has undergone various changes, the most important of which was the establishment of academic standards for published research, explained the editorial director of Convergencia Revista de Ciencias Sociales, Guillermina Díaz Pérez. It was later incorporated into CONACyT's quality journals and indexed in Scopus, Clarivate Analytics, and Latindex, as one of the most cited journals in these indexes.
Moreover, due to the increase in online consultation, it has moved from being a print journal to a fully digital journal, and has been able to decide which articles will be archived online, something that very few journals in South and Central America have done.
