Colombia Exceeds 14.3 Million Euros In Vitor Business Forecast And Grows By 85%

Colombia has exceeded $15.6 million (€14.3 million) in business forecasts in Vitor 2023, a figure that represents 85% growth over what was achieved in the previous edition, a statement said.

The country participated with a delegation of 38 companies, operators, regional promotional entities and one airline. Colombian companies had 578 appointments with business people from 48 countries such as Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States, Mexico and Italy during the days aimed at professional audiences.

With regard to Spain, during the agenda of the Colombian delegation in Madrid, appointments were made with key actors such as the Institute of Foreign Trade, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce or the Spanish Federation of Business Organizations. Likewise, it held meetings with international organizations such as the World Tourism Organization or the Development Bank of Latin America, among others.

For her part, the President of ProColombia, Carmen Caballero, emphasized that Vitor was a key scenario to contribute to the generation of business in the Colombian tourism sector. The numbers achieved at the show prove it.

He added, “I would also like to highlight the strong agenda we have maintained these days with key players in the international tourism landscape, in both the public and private sectors.”

In 2022, 4.6 million non-resident visitors arrived in the Colombian country, which represents a growth of 112% compared to 2021. Foreign currency generation from passengers and flights reached $5262 million in the third quarter of 2022 (4838 million euros), an increase of 153.3 % compared to the same period in 2021.
