Casa de las Ciencias offers awareness workshops for children in March

During the month of March, the House of Science will present various scientific awareness workshops for the youngest of the house. They will address five different themes that were also addressed in the workshops scheduled for February. It will start next Saturday and will also be held on Days 6, 19, 20 and 26. They all have 16 places available and they will start at 12:00.

The first of the workshops, on Saturday the fifth, will be ‘We Are Gardeners’, an hour long and targeting boys and girls from 6 to 8 years old. For Sunday, March 6, the “Trails and Footprints” are planned, which will last 90 minutes and target ages 9-12. The following weekend will start with the workshop, on Saturday the 19th, “Frogs and Toads” for children aged 6-8 years and 60 minutes. On Sunday, March 20, the workshop “With Your Hands on the Earth” will take place, aged 9-12 years and 90 minutes. They will conclude on Saturday the 26th with “The Chicken or the Egg?” In this case, it lasts one hour and targets boys and girls from 6 to 8 years old.

These activities are free, but pre-registration is required. This can be done online at www.inscripcionescasadelasciencias.es from the day before the workshop from Casa de las Ciencias opening hours (Friday at 9:30 and Saturday at 11:00), until the exhaustion of places on offer. Each person may register two participants. In the case of large family units, all family members can be registered. For registration purposes, the age that participants reach or have reached in 2022 will be taken into account.

Once five minutes have elapsed from the workshop start time, registrants who did not show will lose their place. The activity will comply with current anti-virus regulations and a distance of 1.5 meters will be ensured between participants, who will not be able to share materials and must wear a mask.

In addition to these workshops, Casa de las Ciencias hosts two exhibitions: “Cave Art in the Mediterranean Arc”, which can be visited until May 29, and “They demonstrate botany”, which will run until June 26.

Winter hours at Casa de las Ciencias are Tuesday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Workshop program for the month of March:

Saturday 5: 12 noon. We are Gardeners for boys and girls from 6 to 8 years old. Duration: 60 minutes.

Sunday 6: 12:00. “Roads and Footprints” from 9 to 12 years old. Duration: 90 minutes.

Saturday 19: 12 noon. “Frogs and Toads”, 6 to 8 years old. Duration: 60 minutes.

Sunday 20: 12:00. “Hands on the Floor”, 9 to 12 years old. Duration: 90 minutes.

Saturday 26: 12:00. “The chicken or the egg?” , from 6 to 8 years. Duration: 60 minutes.
