Another Cuban researcher became a member of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), to which more than a dozen scientists from the island belong.
Now researcher, expert in artificial intelligence and director of international relations at the University of Camaguey, Yailé Caballero Mota, is part of TWAS, according to information shared in the island’s official media and networks.
The Cuban woman became a member of this organization, after analyzing its scientific results, in addition to hearing the opinion of international experts from Spain, China, Colombia, Mexico and Belgium about her investigative work, keeping a note from the official media Workers.
Caballero Mota is an Academy Award recipient in the Computer Science category, as well as the Outstanding Foreign Expert Award from Hebei Province, China; Six special privileges from the Minister of Higher Education.
He is also a full member of the Cuban Academy of Sciences and heads the Camagüey-Ciego de Ávila branch of that institution, in addition to having numerous scientific publications and participating in research projects.
According to the aforementioned media, for Caballero Mota, this is the greatest recognition he has received in his career.
Two years ago, it emerged that the researcher was part of a project to establish an international institute for artificial intelligence between universities on the island and China.
TWAS is an independent international organization founded in 1983 in Italy and currently led by the Nobel Prize in Physics Abdus Salam of Pakistan; It brings together more than a hundred researchers from all continents of the planet.
Among the Cuban researchers who created it are: Vicente Verez Bencomo (chemist), Celso Hugo Pérez Roja (physicist) and Tania Crombet Ramos (neuroscientist).
