An appointment that combines science and agriculture concludes in Cuba

According to Amilcar Herrera, Director of University Extension at Fructuoso Rodríguez Pérez Agrarian University of Havana (UNAH), the conference was very valuable because it highlighted the importance of scientific research and its link to food production.

The Master of Science stated that showing the links between the company, the university and the community in order to contribute to the common goal of food production is one of the aspects to highlight within Agrociencias.

Herrera indicated that the achievement of food sovereignty in which science plays an essential role is undoubtedly a goal of this type of event, and from this perspective important activities have been carried out, including a working tour.

For Jesús Estévez, director of the Spanish company Fabrez, responsible for assembling irrigation systems, pressure drip systems, center pivots and hose reels for agriculture, the Agrociencias was a very important event in order to learn and advance scientific work in order to boost economies.

The Business Tour, Trade Science Fair, and Workshops such as International Agricultural Social Development, and the 5th International Scientific Symposium on Veterinary Medicine have featured within the Agricultural Sciences Program, an event with sessions in Varadero from June 5 through today.

The Fifth International Conference on Agricultural Sciences, Agrociencias 2023, was held under the theme of University and Innovation for Sustainable Development, in a hybrid format, with the presence of 673 representatives from 15 countries.
