Spain’s autonomous communities continue to modify return programs to attract more citizens and descendants.
The first goal is to repopulate areas with low demographic rates in recent years.
The Official Gazette of Castilla y León of April 26, 2024 explains the new amendments issued in favor of the “Return Passport” programme.

The program will have two lines of direct financial aid. The first will target those residing abroad; The second is intended for those who live in Spain, but outside Castile and Leon.

The authorities of Castile and León remember that the aid provided by the first and second lines, as well as by the first and second programmes, will not be compatible with each other.
Total program balance
On each call, the total balance for the Return Passport program will be determined. According to the rules, the amount of financial assistance for people aged 35 or over will be 2,500 euros. 500 euros are added for each responsible person, up to a maximum of 4,500.
In the case of people under 35 years of age, the assistance will be 3,500 euros plus 500 euros for each dependent, up to a maximum of 5,500 euros.
The new provisions stipulate that where the applicant is responsible for two or more beneficiaries, the amount of €500 will be divided equally.
