HAVANA, May 19 (Prinsa Latina) Today in this capital, representatives from Cuba and Vietnam paid tribute to the father of that Asian nation, Ho Chi Minh (1890-1989), on the 132nd anniversary of his birth.
The tribute, which took place in the park that bears his name, was attended by representatives of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP) and the Hanoi Embassy in Havana, along with schoolchildren and community members, who paid tribute to the work remembered as “Uncle Ho”.
By historical coincidence, the Vietnamese patriot was born on May 19, the same day that national hero Jose Martí fell in battle in 1895.
According to ICAP, at the meeting, the Vice President of the Cuban-Vietnamese Friendship Association, Fridesman Toro, highlighted Ho Chi Minh’s legacy, clarity of thought and compatibility with Marti’s ideology and leader of the Cuban Revolution. Fidel Castro.
On the Vietnamese side, Nguyen Van Du, Vice-President of the Supreme People’s Court, thanked the tribute and invoked Uncle Hu “a great figure in world history, much loved by his people, a fervent communist fighter, always ready to offer himself his private life for revolutionary work.”
Van Doe, who is in Havana at the head of a delegation, hoped that the brotherhood between Vietnam and Cuba would be strengthened, and that the revolutionary action in the two countries would bring new and greater victories.
Victor Gaut, Vice President of the Institute, Vietnamese Ambassador Le Than Tung and Nancy Koro Aguiar, of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba also participated in the honor.
