Yulimar Rojas has been named America’s Female Athlete of the Year

For the second year in a row, Venezuelan Yulimar Rojas was named Female Athlete of the Year International Association of Sports Press (AIPS) America section.

Rojas received the majority of votes from specialist contacts, as well as other female figures in the region such as Elaine Thompson Hera (Jamaica – athletics); Yocasta Valley (Costa Rica boxing); Sofia Granda (Guatemala Bowling); Yasmine Camacho (Puerto Rican athletics), Sandra Arenas (Colombia – athletics) and Neyesi Dagomes (Ecuador – weightlifting).

Yulimar Rojas also won this award last year 2020.
