Venezuela and Azerbaijan signed a memorandum of cooperation

Baku, July 6 (Prensa Latina) The Foreign Ministers of Venezuela, Ivan Gil, and of Azerbaijan, Jehun Bayramov, signed a Memorandum of Understanding here today in order to establish cooperation between the diplomatic and academic institutions of both countries.

The conversation took place in the context of the ministerial meeting of the Coordination Office of the Non-Aligned Movement, which ends on Thursday, two days after the meeting.

The signing of the document will allow both countries to enhance the contribution and establish a communication program between their diplomatic institutes, with the aim of strengthening development programs in their two countries.

The foreign ministers renewed their willingness to fight for a new world order, which would end the domination of imperialist countries and allow self-determination of peoples, the South American Foreign Ministry indicated.

They also expressed their intention to enhance bilateral strategic cooperation in areas of interest, especially in the field of energy.

President Nicolas Maduro visited Azerbaijan last year as part of his international tour to countries in Europe, Asia and North Africa, and agreed with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev to open an embassy in Caracas, form a mixed committee and negotiate agreements in strategic areas. of interest.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister’s agenda on Thursday also included a meeting with his Ugandan counterpart, Odongo Jiji Abu Bukhar, with whom he reviewed the bilateral agenda and identified new ways of cooperation between the two countries.
