UNAM wins 34 medals in universities

Student-athletes representing UNAM in the 2022 National Universities Championship, organized by the National Council for Educational Sports (Condde), and held in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, won a total of 34 medals: seven gold, eight silver and 17 bronze, with where they placed fourth with points. Out of 77 universities competed in the competition.
As for the gold medals in the chess competition, Carlos Sandoval Mercado of the Faculty of Science won the championship in the men’s sprints, while Paulina Isabel Mejia Granados of FES Iztacala won the gold in the women’s fast. .
Marianne Bergerault Fernandez, of Chemistry, climbed to the top of the podium in the sport of climbing, and Carlos Javier Rojas Lopez, a student of ENES Juriquilla, took the gold in shooting. Meanwhile, Pedro Brian Flores, of FES Aragón, won the gold in the 61kg Olympic wrestling category. Pumas women’s rugby and football teams have also achieved maximum glory.
Silver medals in chess were achieved by Teresa Alejandra Avila Bautista, of the Faculty of Science, in a women’s fast fashion; two more in judo, with Edgar Balam Alvarez Reyes, of the law, in the 66kg class; And Fatima Alanis Romero, from philosophy and literature, her weight is 52 kg.
